Frank Gilroy

Hey! How’s it going? Welcome to my site. I’m Frank and I’m an Internet addict. I’m also a 36 year old Software Engineer, husband, and father of 3 currently taking up space in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area.

This site is my personal experiment in Internet Marketing and Social Media. On one hand, my main goal is to market the Internet itself as a useful tool for people. I feel the Internet gets a bad rep at times.

With all of the bad stuff running around the net, it can be hard to wade through the junk. I use this blog to promote the use of software and other tools I’ve found truly useful. My goal is to provide clear, concise educational material on those tools.

On the other hand, I am marketing myself. I have a great deal of technical experience but am getting a bit bored with my day job. My dream is to get paid to create content for, and communicate with, people on the Internet. If my dream job had a title it would be, “Social Media Correspondent” or “Internet Evangelist”.

So those are the things I’ll write about here. Why the Internet is good, what tools you should think about using and why you should listen to me. Along the way I’ll also give tips and tidbits on things I’m learning about using the Internet for marketing.

Think of me like you would a Justine Ezarik if she was an ugly, male, illegitimate love child of Robert Scoble and Emily Chang who hung out allot with Leo Babauta in his adolescence.

As for the site’s name, “Kilroy Was Here” was a World War II phenomenon that spanned the globe and inspired a nation during a time of great suffering. “Gilroy Was Here” is a motto I’ve adopted to capture the hearts and minds of my readers. Feel free to comment as much as you’d like or e-mail me at theonlyone@frankgilroy.com
